Red Eye
Red Eye;
Directed by Wes Craven
CAST: Rachel
McAdams, Cillian Murphy, Brian Cox

RATING: PG-13 for some intense sequences of violence and
language
I think every director’s ultimate dream is a receiving Oscar for
drama movie, hence establishing himself as someone who
belongs once and forever to Hollywood Hall of Fame. However life
is usually making some adjustments and for majority of directors
it is never happening. Does that mean all directors (actors) who
are not in miraculous drama category are short of talent? Not at
all. And Red Eye is just one more prove of that. In my opinion
Wes Craven has enough talent to come first in many aspects of
movie making business.
Do I like horror
movies?
Not at all. But
this well-written and brilliantly directed thriller
definitely has a full right for a spot in my collection.
Is Wes Craven
exploiting our fears about our 9/11 paranoia?
Yes. But as
Hitchcock had put it brilliantly – horror movies are all
about exploiting human fear.
Did I get
irritated while watching Red Eye?
No, it lasts
only 76 minutes, so the movie didn’t even give me
time to roll my eyes.
What surprised
me the most in Red Eye?
I think the
performance by McAdams whom I found pretty hard to
forgive after seeing her in “The Notebook,” and totally miscast in
“The Wedding Crashers.”
And the last
question us usual – should you spend your time watching
the movie?
Yes, taken as a
whole, Red Eye has much to offer and this movie
is from “must see category”.
